11 weeks 2 days

Well no one said this pregnancy would be easy. I completely freaked out today and was convinced that the baby was dead. I called my OBs office and told them that I had been having some bad cramping (I have been having cramps but nothing like I made it seem) and they told me to come in for a quick check. Well they did an ultrasound and there was the baby acting quite crazy! It was moving all around, kicking its little legs and arching its back! It was quite the sight. After seeing that, I do feel much better and I know that I over reacted but after loosing a baby, pregnancy will never feel the same again. I've attached 2 pictures. The baby is already head down...my little over achiever!

11 weeks

Yay for week 11! I feel like every week is such an accomplishment! I still have some nausea and am very tired but I have to say that I do feel a tiny bit better. I was able to eat almost a whole meal for the first time in weeks this past weekend...I paid for it after with the incredible heartburn but it was worth it! My good friend Megan had her baby this past weekend and it hit me when I was at the hospital holding him, if all goes well I am going to have another one of these precious miracles! It made it all become a reality for me. I really want to fast foward these next 28 weeks so I can meet my baby but at the same time this may be my last pregnancy so I want to try to enjoy and cherish each and every moment of it. I have been toying with the idea of taking a belly picture (since I have one now) but I am still very cautious about this pregnancy and want to wait until week 12 or 13...so maybe next week! I have my next doctors appointment next Monday and my NT scan on Tuesday so I should have some great ultrasound pictures!

10 weeks

Awe, week 10! It's so nice to be in the double digits! My appointments last week went very well. The high risk office did a quick ultrasound but unfortunetely the machine must have been from 1960 so I couldn't make anything out. The nurse said that she saw a heartbeat and I didn't think that she would make that up! They ordered lot of blood work and scheduled my NT scan at 12 weeks. I wasn't too sure about having it done but any excuse to take a peak at my baby, I'll take! I had another appointment on Friday with my regular OB. He also did an ultrasound but again the machine was quite old. I did see the heartbeat this time and he printed out a picture for us. You can't see much but the baby does look a lot bigger in comparison to the 7 week scan. I am feeling okay, some days are better than others. I am still very nauseous and very tired. I am hoping to get some relief in the coming weeks. I lost 3 pounds so far and I really haven't been eating much....I thought for sure I would have lost more than that! Oh well, I guess I am making a human being so I can't expect much! My next appointment is with my high risk doctor who I haven't seen since after I delivered Caden, it will be on June 1st...2 weeks away!! Again, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

9 weeks

Well I made it to 9 weeks! This is the day that I found out that our baby had passed during my last pregnancy. I still feel all of my pregnancy symptoms and I have not had any spotting so I am keeping my fingers crossed that all is well. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow with the high risk OB. I told myself that I wouldn't go to them this pregnancy...I wanted my regular OB to handle everything but something was nagging at me telling me to get my thyroid checked. I have had thyroid problems ever since I became diabetic so I went to my diabetes doctor and asked him to draw some blood to check my levels. My instincts were right because my levels were too high. Thankfully my doctor changed my daily dosage right away. If I had not caught this, the baby could have died and that pertifies me. My regular OB did not think to check for this because he never handles diabetic patients but the high risk OB checks every month. I decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment with them. I am hoping to continue to see both doctors and see if my regluar OB can handle the delivery. My appointment tomorrow is with the diabetes educator but I am hoping to get a quick peek at the baby just to calm my nerves. I also have an appointment with my regular OB on Friday so I will update you next week as to how they go. Please keep us in your prayers!

8 weeks

Well...what a week it's been! I had a trip already planned for Caden and I to travel to my parents for the weekend. It was a direct flight from Newport News to Boston so I didn't think it would be too bad. Thankfully Caden was an angel on the flights (wow, when do I say that!) and my stomach held up just as well...thank God! I have been taking Zofran at least once a day and Zantac about every other day. If I take both of these together, I get relief! This past week I have gotten very tired, even after a good 8 hours of sleep I wake up and feel exhausted. I don't remember it being this bad when I was pregnant with Caden...or maybe it was and I just pushed it out of my mind...either way I really can't wait until the first trimester is over. I lost the baby around 8.5 weeks with my last pregnancy so please say an extra prayer for me this week. My next appointment is Friday, May 15th!
